The ceremony of the first Hangur class submarine developed for Pakistan took place in China

The launching ceremony of the first Hangur class submarine developed for Pakistan was held in China. According to ISPR, the ceremony took place at China’s Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd.’s Shuangliu base.

According to ISPR, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf was the chief guest on the occasion.

According to ISPR, this project will add a new dimension to Pakistan-China friendship. The government had signed an agreement for the acquisition of 8 Hangur class submarines during the visit of the Chinese President to Pakistan.

Under the contract, 4 submarines will be manufactured in China. The other 4 submarines will be manufactured at the Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Limited.

According to ISPR, these submarines will be equipped with advanced weapons and sensors. According to ISPR, these submarines will be able to target targets at a distance.
