The request of electricity distribution companies to burden consumers with an additional 51 billion rupees

Islamabad: Electricity distribution companies requested to collect additional Rs 51 billion 88 crore from the consumers, after which there was a fear of electricity becoming more expensive.

According to Express News, the request has been made for the third quarter adjustment of the current financial year, Nepra will hear this request on May 17.

In the application, the electricity distribution companies have requested to receive 31 billion 34 crore rupees in the form of capitation charges, in which 5 billion 57 crore rupees have been requested in the form of operations and maintenance.

If the application is approved, the cost of electricity will also apply to the electricity consumers, but the final decision on approval will be taken after the Nepra hearing.
