50% discount on traffic challan, campaign starts today

The happy news for the citizens of Saudi Arabia has come out, the discount campaign given on the traffic challan is being started today, Thursday, April 18.

According to Arab media, under the discount campaign, fines will be reduced by 50%, which will benefit those who have fines of more than 100,000 riyals.

The report states that the Ministry of Interior had announced a special discount scheme in traffic fines by implementing the decision of the Saudi cabinet.

Those persons who are found to be driving more than 30 to 50 kilometers per hour above the speed limit on roads where strict speed limit enforcement is required or who are seriously injured due to speeding will not be eligible for the discount campaign. Accidents committed or accidents resulting in serious injury or death will not be included in the concessional category.

Challans for drunk driving will also not be discounted.

A woman speaking in this regard said that she has a challan of 3000 riyals for violating the traffic signal, after paying which she promised to stop her car on the next yellow signal.

Regarding the discounted challan campaign, a citizen said that he had received a challan of 11 thousand rupees, now he will have to pay half of this amount due to this discount.

Due to non-payment of challans, he is facing problems, due to which he is not able to renew his driving license and vehicle registration.
