A British police officer will be sentenced next month for supporting Hamas

British police officer Mohammad Adel had sent a message of support to Hamas to more than 1,000 people on WhatsApp

London: In a British court, police officer Mohammad Adel admitted to sharing a WhatsApp message containing support for Hamas, for which he will be sentenced on June 4.

According to the British news agency, on October 7, Hamas attacked Israel, in which about 1500 Israelis were killed, while 250 were taken hostage and brought to Gaza.

On which British police officer Muhammad Adel shared a message of support for Hamas on WhatsApp to more than 1,000 people saying, “Today is the time for the Palestinian people to rise up, straighten their ranks and establish an independent Palestinian state.”

Adil had also shared photos of Hamas fighters, on which two police officers complained to their department.

It should be noted that Hamas has been banned as a terrorist organization in the UK and supporting and promoting Hamas is a punishable offence.

The police had arrested Adel for violating the Terrorism Act and today in court Muhammad Adel admitted to supporting Hamas.

The judge addressed Muhammad Adil and said that you are a person of good character but this mistake is a cognizable offence. On June 4, you will be sentenced to several years in prison.

The court has currently released Mohammad Adil on bail but his fate will be decided on June 4 while he is also suspended from his job.
