Accused of killing by throwing acid for refusing to have a relationship sentenced to life imprisonment

Karachi: Additional District and Sessions Judge South has sentenced the accused to life imprisonment with hard labor in the case of murder by throwing acid for refusing to have a relationship.

The court said in the verdict that the sentence was pronounced in the presence of the elderly mother of the victim. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on the accused. The court said in the verdict that one more year will have to be spent in jail for non-payment of fine.

7 witnesses against the accused appeared in the court while medical reports also proved the charge against the accused. According to the police, the incident took place in December 2021. The accused came to the victim’s house and threw acid on her after she refused the relationship.

The victim’s face and body were burnt by throwing acid. The victim died after being treated in the hospital for a few days. A case of the incident was registered in Mehmoodabad police station on the complaint of the victim’s father.
