Karachi: Dawood Engineering University has decided to transfer its Faculty of Information and Computing Science to Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed School located in Federal B Area and a formal agreement has also been reached with the administration of Gulberg Town in this regard.
Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed School located in Federal B Area is under the Local Government of Karachi and was lying vacant for the past several years due to non-enrollment and the teaching process was suspended, after which the university administration and Gulberg Town in this regard. An agreement was reached and under the agreement the school has been handed over to Dawood Engineering University.
Dawood Engineering University Vice Chancellor Dr. Samreen Hussain told Express that under the agreement, the school building has been handed over to the university for educational and teaching purposes for 10 years and the agreement is also renewable.
According to Dr. Samreen Hussain, in the part of the main campus of the university where this faculty is currently established, due to limited space, the number of classes and laboratories is less than required.
He said that the said school is on a 3 acre premises and it is the responsibility of the university to construct, repair and renovate the school for the establishment of the faculty, after which the faculty along with all the related equipment and facilities will be handed over to the major. Tufail Muhammad Shaheed School will be shifted and from next session the classes of Faculty of Information and Computing Sciences will be held in the same school.
It should be noted that the classes of BS Computer Science, BS Artificial Intelligence, BS Cyber Security, BA Data Sciences program under the said faculty will be held in the said school, an agreement was made between Dawood Engineering University and Gulberg Town in this regard. has gone
