Amending the Law of Handcuffing Suspects in Saudi Arabia

In Saudi Arabia, the law regarding the handcuffing of suspects during arrest has been amended.

According to the Saudi media, the Saudi authorities have approved the amendment of the law banning the handcuffing of the accused after their arrest, except in extreme circumstances.

According to the amendment made in this regard, the accused shall not be handcuffed upon arrest unless he harms himself or others or tries to escape from custody.

According to reports, recommendations were made in this regard, after which the law regarding handcuffing the accused has been amended.
