Riyadh: An Indian man was detained by the police for disturbing and harassing a girl in Saudi Arabia.
According to the Arab media, the spokesperson of Saudi Arabia’s Sharqia Police said that the Indian citizen had been harassing the said girl for a long time and was not stopping despite many explanations.
On which the girl lodged a complaint with the police. When the allegation was proved true in the investigation, the Indian citizen was arrested and presented in the court. There is sufficient material to prove the guilt against the accused.
The name of the female informant has been withheld by the police, while the identity of the accused has not been revealed yet.
It should be remembered that under the anti-harassment law in Saudi Arabia, the punishment for this crime is two years in prison and a fine of 100,000 riyals. An Indian citizen may face this punishment and fine.
