Asif Ali Zardari hopeful for government formation in Balochistan

The Balochistan Awami Party, which came into being on the occasion of the 2018 elections under the slogan of solving Balochistan’s problems in Balochistan, is once again suffering from a political crisis despite being in power in the province, although at the time of its establishment in the political circles. However, at that time, three current members of the party joined the Pakistan People’s Party by breaking their ties with the Balochistan Assembly Party.

After a meeting with the co-chairman of the PPP, former President Asif Ali Zardari, three former provincial ministers and current members of the assembly announced to continue their future political journey from the platform of the PPP, while more important political parties from the province. The trend of personalities is towards the People’s Party. Senator Saeed Hashmi, the founder leader of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), made a comment on the joining of three of his members in the People’s Party of the Balochistan Assembly. It happens, but the children are happy wherever they are, which shows the aspect of the elder party leader’s prayer for his former members on the one hand, and on the other hand, his despair.

The establishment of Balochistan Awami Party included the overwhelming majority of Muslim League (N) leaders who were elected representatives or party leaders of various houses on the ticket of Muslim League (N) in the 2013 elections, this was not the first time in Balochistan. Rather, even in the past, when the Muslim League (Q) was established, the leaders who were with Mian Nawaz Sharif formed the (Q) League in Balochistan, the provincial government formed under the leadership of former Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan. His own party was facing difficulties, first there were problems regarding intra-party elections, then the members of his own party brought no confidence against Jam Kamal Khan and removed him and made Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo the chief minister. The members of the Balochistan Assembly who left their father and joined the PPP are considered to be close friends of Jam Kamal Khan, although so far no such indication has been given by Jam Kamal Khan or his friends. Whether Kamal Khan will also join PPP or not, but in a group in political circles, it is confirmed that former Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan will also join PPP.

But it is premature and difficult to say anything about politics in Balochistan because in the past important political changes were seen in a very short time, including the formation of Code Balochistan Awami Party. However, the provincial leadership of PPP is hopeful that the current Prominent personalities of the province including other members of the Balochistan Assembly will join the party and the provincial leadership of the party is fully hopeful that not only the important personalities of the province or for whom the term electables is used in the present era will join the party. Rather, the future government of the province will also be of the People’s Party, the People’s Party went to the polls in the 2008 elections without Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and was able to form a provincial government in Balochistan like the Center after the 1970s.

After the PPP provincial government formed under the leadership of Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani was dissolved by its own central government due to the law and order situation in the province at that time, Balochistan held the last two elections i.e. 2013 and 2018. did not get access to the assembly but also did not get any significant success in the last local body elections in the province, the Balochistan Assembly formed after the 2018 elections, the term of which is now a few months away. It is also clear that some important political figures will join the PPP after the dissolution of the assemblies, so perhaps some figures are now looking at the direction of the wind after which they can decide their political future.

As it has been mentioned before that the PPP was deprived of representation in this assembly, however, after the differences of the former Chief Minister of Balochistan, Chief of Jhalawan, Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zahri with the central leadership of his former party, the Muslim League (N). After resigning and joining the PPP, the PPP got representation in the Balochistan Assembly, but now with the inclusion of three members of the Balochistan Awami Party, this representation has increased. The issue of the survival of Awami Party is also under discussion because of the statements coming from some of the party’s own leaders, which were given by the leaders of their own party and they are sure that BAP will remain united in the future. .

However, it cannot be ignored that the increasing interest of the central leadership of the People’s Party in Balochistan and the contacts with political leaders have also attracted many important political figures and some political circles are of the opinion that the PP in Balochistan. The central leadership of P is serious in forming the government and not only the Balochistan Awami Party but also the leaders of some other parties can join the PPP. Jamiat Ulema Islam has come into position in Balochistan not only as a political party but also as an important and effective party in the province. It has 12 members in the current assembly. After getting the support of Chief Minister Chief of Sarawan Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani and other important figures including former members of the Assembly, it has come into a stronger position. However, considering the past in Balochistan, it cannot be said that what will be the future of Balochistan Awami Party and which party will be the next government of the province.
