Cricketers’ Eid; Often on ‘home ground’, some abroad

The players also called for prayers for the Palestinians in Gaza who are facing Israeli aggression

On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, most of the players of the national cricket team celebrated Eid in their homeland, while some were seen celebrating Eid abroad due to their engagement abroad.

National team captain Babar Azam celebrated this Eid in his native place in his old house and neighborhood. They met friends from school days and reminisced about the past.

Babar Azam’s ancestral home is in Firdous Market. After the Eid prayer and meeting friends, he stood on the roof of the house and took pictures and shared them on social media, which were loved by his fans.

Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi released a video message on social media, in which he wished the countrymen a happy Eid, and prayed that this Eid brings happiness to all of you.

Pakistan Cricket Board and Selection Committee also congratulated on Eid. All-rounder Faheem Ashraf, fast bowler Ehsanullah, Imad Wasim and other players also congratulated the nation on Eid and appealed to remember the Palestinians of Gaza in these moments of happiness.

Former cricketers Javed Mian Dad, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Saqlain Mushtaq and others also offered Eid greetings. Many current and former players, officials are based abroad. Those who say that they are “missing” the Eid of their homeland.
