Islamabad: The track and trace system implemented by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in the tobacco, sugar, cement and fertilizer sectors has revealed massive flaws.

To make the track and trace system successful, FBR has decided to increase the capacity of FBR to review production data and sales tax, create a task force for implementation of TTS and issue TTS from the office of Prime Minister or Finance Minister. According to the report, the industrial sector resisted the implementation of the track and trace system, while the incompetence of the bureaucracy and the inexperience of the company holding the license were also major reasons, and court proceedings and stay orders also caused delays in the implementation of TTS. .

The report said that the FBR had not developed any capacity to control the system on its own.
