Heavy pressure on Hamza Yusuf of Pakistani origin, resigns from the post of Scottish First Minister

Hamza Yusuf, a Pakistani born Scotsman, has resigned from the post of First Minister of Scotland.

In his statement, Hamza Yusuf said that he will continue to perform his duties until the election of a new chief minister.

British media say that Hamza Yusuf was under pressure to resign after the partnership agreement with the Scottish Green Party expired last week.

Hamza Yusuf was also facing a motion of no confidence from the Scottish Labor Party this week, in addition to the Green Party.

The leader of the Scottish National Party, Hamza Yusuf, rejected the possibility of a coalition with the pro-independence party Alba Party.

It should be noted that Hamza Yusuf assumed the post of Prime Minister in March 2023.

Hamza Yusuf was the first Pakistani-born Scot to reach the position of First Minister of Scotland.

According to media reports, before becoming the first minister, Hamza Yusuf was also appointed as the minister of health and justice.
