American liberal Jewish Senator Bernie Sanders says that he is proud of the American students protesting against Israeli atrocities on Palestinians in the Gaza war.

Bernie Sanders has taken to the social media website X to support students protesting at American universities and colleges against Israeli aggression.

He wrote in his post that ‘we staged a sit-in at the University of Chicago in 1962 to end racist policies and in 1963 I was arrested while protesting but I was right’.

Bernie Sanders added, “I was proud to see students protesting the war on Gaza.”

“Be calm and focus on the right because you are all on the right,” he wrote, urging American students.

In addition, Bernie Sanders, in a recent interview, compared the demonstrations in American universities and colleges against Israeli aggression to the Vietnam War, saying, “In 1968, due to the protests of American students against the Vietnam War, the then American President Lyndon Johnson could not run for re-election because of his views during the Vietnam War.

“I am very concerned that Joe Biden has alienated the youth of America and many leaders of the Democratic Party by unduly supporting Israel,” he said.

It should be noted that demonstrations against the Israeli aggression in Gaza are ongoing in American universities and colleges.

According to American media reports, the police have removed the camps of pro-Palestinian protesters at the University of California, while drones are monitoring the rally of pro-Palestinian protesters at the University of Texas.

Apart from this, students of DePaul University in Chicago and Illinois are also protesting for Palestine.

More than 2,500 students have been arrested in these protests since April 17 in America.
