Israeli tanks enter Rafah despite renewed ceasefire talks.

American media say that 1 million displaced Palestinians have taken refuge in Rafah due to the bombing in Gaza.

Israel has entered Rafah on an occasion when the Palestinian resistance organization Hamas has announced to accept the ceasefire proposals presented by Egypt and Qatar, the mediators of the Gaza ceasefire talks.

Earlier, the Israeli army captured the Rafah crossing connecting Egypt and Gaza, the part of the Rafah corridor from the Gaza side.

Dozens of Palestinians were martyred and hundreds were injured in the Israeli army’s ground and air attacks on Rafah and other areas of Gaza.

After the capture of the Rafah crossing, the ceasefire agreement in Gaza became uncertain.

In a video released by the Israeli army, military tanks can be seen entering the Rafah crossing, with Israeli flags prominently displayed.

Palestinian Crossing Authority spokesman Wael Abu Omar confirmed the Israeli army’s occupation of the crossing and said the crossing had been closed for some time.

He said that attacks are taking place from the side of Rafah Crossing.

Al-Qassam Brigades mortar fire on the Israeli army

On the other hand, the military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, Izzedin al-Qassam Brigades, targeted the Israeli army entering the east of the Rafah border post in the southern city of Gaza, located on the Egyptian border, with mortar shells.

The al-Qassam Brigades issued a written statement after the Israeli army’s ground attack on the city of Rafah, announcing that it had captured the Palestinian side of Gaza’s border crossing with Egypt.

Rafah is deeply troubled by the Israeli attack: UN Secretary General

On the other hand, the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, has said that he is very worried about the start of the Israeli attack in Rafah.

Antonio Guterres says that a large-scale military operation in Rafah will lead to humanitarian disaster, appealing to countries that have influence over Israel to prevent Israel from causing further destruction.

The Secretary General of the United Nations said that closing the Rafah and Karam Abu Salem crossings will worsen the dire humanitarian situation, and both crossings should be opened immediately for the delivery of aid to Gaza.

He urged Israel to stop escalating tensions and engage in ceasefire negotiations.
