Karachi: The hottest day of the year 2024 was recorded in Shahr Quaid on Sunday with the temperature reaching 37 degrees Celsius.

According to the Department of Meteorology, a hot and humid day was recorded in the city on Sunday, due to the influence of sea breezes, there were low temperatures during the day and the humidity in the air increased to 45%, making it feel hotter than the actual temperature.

The city’s maximum temperature was recorded at 37 degrees Celsius, an increase of 2.9 degrees over the previous day, while Saturday’s maximum temperature was 34.1.

According to the forecast of the Early Warning Center of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of a partial heat wave due to the short-term cessation of sea breezes and the north-westerly winds of Balochistan affecting the city and during which the temperature will exceed 39 degrees. can do.

According to the Early Warning Center, the weather is expected to remain hot and dry in other parts of the province. According to Chief Meteorologist Karachi Sardar Sarfraz, there is no possibility of heat wave during the partial heat wave because the moisture content in the air will remain 10 to 20 percent during this time.
