Karachi: A father of three was killed while his father and a friend were injured in a clash in Karachi.
According to the police, one person was injured in firing and two others were injured due to violence during an altercation near Noor Masjid No. 2 Sector 33/C of Korangi area. Among the injured are the deceased’s father and friend. The deceased was a cable operator and a father of 3 children. The body of the deceased and the injured were shifted to Jinnah Hospital.
The cold drinkers of the area had caught the victim’s friend as a robber and wanted to tie him to a tree and hang him. Police did not reach the spot despite calling helper 15. Later, the police arrested an accused involved in the firing from Jinnah Hospital.
According to the spokesperson of Karachi Police, the person who died in the firing was identified as 33-year-old Muhammad Faizan, while the injured include the victim’s friend Danish and the victim’s father Muhammad Umar. The deceased used to work in cable net in the area near the house and was a father of 3 children, while the injured Danish is a friend of the deceased Faizan and a resident of Korangi No. 6 and has a thread shop in Korangi No. 2 and a half Gharib Nawaz Market.
Speaking to the media, the father, cousin and local residents of the victim said that at the time of the incident, robbers had come to the area and were fleeing after robbing the citizens, that Danish fired at the robbers from behind with his licensed pistol. They escaped.
At the same time, 4 brothers and their friends, who own a cold drink shop in the area, came and grabbed Danish by making noise and started beating him, while they tied a rope around Faizan’s neck and hanged him to a tree. He tried and also hit the idol of the pistol on the head. Seeing Danish being beaten, his friend Faizan reached the spot to save him, while Faizan’s father also reached there after seeing the quarrel.
On this occasion, the four brothers including Hassan aka Babu, Rehan and their friends, Faizan and Danesh got together. Meanwhile, Hussam snatched his licensed pistol from Danish. Hussam alias Babu opened fire with a stolen pistol, which hit Faizan 2 times on the chest and seriously injured him.
The residents of the area said that the cold drinkers are local miscreants. All these brothers have their own pistols and draw their weapons on people. After injuring Faizan, his father and Danish, Rehan, the elder brother of the Cold Drinkers, injured his fingers by shooting himself and Jinnah reached the hospital, where he received the sympathy of the local residents who came with the body of the deceased. However, at the same time, Korangi Police reached Jinnah Hospital after the MLO of Jinnah Hospital entered the police control of the incident and realizing the seriousness of the situation, the police detained 2 people including Rehan and sent them to the police mobile. Danish himself has said in his statement that Rehan and his brothers hit him with the butt of a pistol and tried to trap him, due to which he was seriously injured.
