Lahore: One person died as a result of an explosion caused by a gas leak in a house in the Iqbal Town area of the provincial capital.
According to Express News, a gas explosion in a hostel in Iqbal Town caused a fire in the house, which was brought under control by the fire brigade officials while the rescue workers of Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to the hospital.
On transfer to the hospital, the doctor confirmed the death of 60-year-old Sarfaraz and the other injured person was identified as 30-year-old Shabbir.
On receiving the information about the explosion, a heavy police force reached the spot and said that due to leakage, the room was filled with gas, as a result of which there was a loud explosion and the windows of the neighboring houses were also broken.
According to the police, the person who died in the explosion was an electrician.
