Madhubala the elephant suffers from isolation, likely to move to safari park soon

Despite the passage of a year, the elephant Madhubala in Karachi Zoo was not able to transfer to the Safari Park. The international organization Fourpaz says that Madhubala is suffering from loneliness since the death of his fellow elephant Noorjahan a year ago. The safari park near the elephants should be moved.

A team from the international animal welfare organization Fourpaz supervised the relocation of elephant Madhubala at the Karachi Zoo and Safari Park.

Fourpaz said in his statement that the elephants’ minds are vulnerable to all sorts of profound effects due to isolation, Madhubala suffering from loneliness after the death of a fellow elephant.

A year ago, the elephant Nurjahan was killed, after which it was decided to transfer the elephant Madhumala, who was left alone in the Karachi Zoo, to another elephant in the Safari Park, but even after a year, the transfer has not been done.

Fourpaz says that Madhu Bala will soon be shifted to the safari park along with her fellow elephants Malika and Sonia.

We are working with stakeholders in Karachi to speed up the transfer of Madhubala and Madhubala the elephant is all set for the transfer from Karachi Zoo to Karachi Safari Park.

The world body says Fourpaz has provided recommendations and is monitoring the effective implementation of required reforms.

It should be noted that the 5.2-acre sanctuary area within the Karachi Safari Park is undergoing extensive renovations to prepare for the relocation of Madhubala.
