Patients treated by female doctors more likely to survive, study finds

According to a study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, female doctors have lower patient mortality rates than male doctors.

The study included 458,100 female patients and more than 318,800 male patients who were hospitalized for various diseases from 2016 to 2019.

According to foreign media, the study concluded that patients treated by female doctors had lower rates of death and re-hospitalization.

According to the research, the mortality rate of female patients treated by female doctors was 8.15% while the rate was 8.38% during treatment by male doctors.

The study said that the mortality rate among men treated by female doctors was 10.15 percent while the rate was 10.23 percent when treated by male doctors.
