Potential clash with IPL, consideration of early signing of key players for PSL 2025

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has begun considering the early signing of key players ahead of a possible clash between the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the Indian Premier League (IPL) next year. These players will get more money than the players in the platinum category.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has proposed dates for the 2025 PSL from April 7 to May 20. These dates also include the Indian Premier League, which may pose an issue with the availability of key players.

According to sources, PCB and PSL management will prepare a list of 6 to 12 players to deal with this issue. The list will be prepared jointly by the PSL management and the franchise and will consist of players who are guaranteed to participate in the PSL.

Sources said that these players will definitely get the marquee player status, but they will be picked from the draft and will be picked from the platinum category. However, they will be paid extra from other platinum players.

According to sources, marquee pool players can be paid between three and a half to four lakh dollars. Currently, platinum players get up to 200,000 dollars.
