Practical application of prayers in Ramadan after Eid

It is time to implement the goals of Ramadan throughout the year. (Photo: File)

Ramadan has come to an end. The important things we did in this blessed month were: Fasting, Obedience of Ibadah, Recitation of the Holy Quran. The objectives hidden in these three things were as follows: Patience and compassion were gained through fasting, physical health was improved, closeness to God was obtained through worship, and hearts were refreshed through recitation of the Holy Quran. He understood the Qur’an, he understood the commands of God.

Now that Ramadan has passed, it is time to apply the things that we have done in the form of workshops in this month. That is, just as a student works hard throughout the year and then prepares for the exam, it is time to implement the goals of Ramadan throughout the year.

Patience and compassion

Among the purposes we understood for fasting, the most important were patience and compassion (there are many other purposes, but these are the most important). Now how to adopt patience? This is real work. Patience is to bring us both in ‘worships’ and ‘affairs’. There is only one method to be adopted in worship, that is, that every worship should be performed calmly, for example, if you pray calmly, then recite the holy word calmly. It means that there should be peace in every worship. In the same way, if you look at things, you should act with patience in every case, that is, whether it is happiness or sadness, patience should not be left out of hand, for example: there has been a loss in business, before taking any emotional decision on this occasion. One should act patiently, be satisfied with the pleasure of Allah and find the reasons while pondering, then try to remedy it. Of course, it will not be easy, but the fasts have taught us ‘tolerance’ in the face of hunger and thirst, and it is time for its practical application in this difficult situation. If you take control of this opportunity, be sure that Allah will give you something better.

Patience is actually a characteristic of prophets. Allah has said in the Qur’an: “Be patient as the courageous messengers did” (al-Ahqaf: 35).

Patience is to be adopted from big to small matters. Get angry about something, get into a fight, on this occasion only ‘patience’, silence and tolerance should be adopted.

“For the patient believer, Allah has prepared good news” (al-Baqarah: 155).

Similarly, compassion is essentially a divine attribute. Compassion is selfless. Look at the example of Muwakhat in history that this compassion set a wonderful precedent for Muwakhat in Madinah. This was the spirit due to which the doors of the homes and hearts of the Companions were always open for the poor. Open your heart and help the needy. Your wealth will never decrease but will continuously increase.

“In exchange for one earring, you will get seven hundred earrings” (Al-Baqarah: 261).

Look in your neighborhood if there is anyone in need. If so, include him with you, help him and cheer him up. Similarly, whenever difficulties befall the nations, help them according to their status as individuals.

Physical health

Along with the spiritual benefits of fasting, there are also physical benefits such as: weight loss, elimination of excess body fat, blood pressure control, improved blood circulation, etc., etc. Although you should not fast after Ramadan, you must take care of your health, so as to avoid visits to doctors. But it is the opposite, people change their routine immediately after Ramadan and as much as they restrict food and drink during Ramadan, they lose their health balance due to excessive carelessness in the early days of Eid. And get sick. Now don’t miss this opportunity, just as you have endured hunger in this blessed month, take care of your food and drink in the coming days to lead a healthy and fit life. Create and follow your own food chart, healthy meals under the guidance of a good nutritionist, to stay fit and energetic throughout the year.

Divine nearness

In the same way that we performed worship in Ramadan, now is the opportunity to continue this restriction. When continuity comes, the relationship with Allah will be strong. Stay away from evils for a whole month, now you have to get rid of them completely. Worship does not mean only prayer and fasting, but every act of worship that is done for the pure pleasure of God. If work is done for the pleasure of God, then the relationship with God will be strengthened and at the same time the believer will be away from evil. The kind of language that is being used in the society should be controlled by thinking that I have ‘washed’ my language with the words of Allah Ta’ala for a whole month, now it has to be applied in practice in the markets. , meaning to keep your language clean and tidy. Do not utter such words or any words that cause pain or hurt to another person.

Understanding the recitation of the Qur’an and the commandments of God

The Quran was revealed in Ramadan. In Ramadan, believers regularly recite the Quran. There were two hidden objectives in organizing the recital. One is the comfort of the heart, the other is to know the commands of God. Recitation of Quran should be continued even after Ramadan. At the same time, this Qur’an should be pondered and pondered in order to obtain the gems and corals that are inside the Qur’an. The real benefit of reciting the Quran will be when the Quran is understood. One of the most important demands of the Holy Qur’an is Tadbar-e-Qur’an. Allah said: “Do not these people meditate on the Qur’an?” (Al-Nisa’: 82)

If you meditate on the Holy Quran, i.e. understand it, you will get the following benefits:

• Basic teachings given by Prophets (Peace Be Upon Him) (Tawheed, Prophethood and Hereafter, etc.) will be understood.

• Will be committed to following the basic teachings.

• The reality of the difficulties faced by the Prophets in calling for monotheism will be clear.

• The disobedient nations will be informed about the punishment and their end.

• A study of former disobedient nations will facilitate self-evaluation.

• The Prophet’s biography will be found through the Qur’an.

• The day and night affairs of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, will be found in the Holy Qur’an, for example: Surah al-Muzmal wa al-Mudassar, etc.

• The truth of how the Holy Prophet showed patience and persistence in the face of difficulties will be clear.

• It will be easy to develop patience and perseverance like the Holy Prophet in the face of difficulties in life.

• The truth of the end of Prophethood will be known.

• Faith will be strong at the end of Prophethood.

• Knowledge of all rights and duties (eg: parents, children, spouses, distribution of inheritance, etc.)

• It will help to review the practical applications of rights and duties.

• The reality of establishing balance in worship will be known.

• The truth of Ghazwat will be known. The principles of Ghazwat, such as whoever initiates the fight, should be fought on an equal footing, i.e., defense must be made (Al-Hajj: 39).

• Knowledge of famous battles (such as Badr, Hunain, Ahzab, Tabuk, etc.) through the Qur’an.

• The steadfastness of the Companions of the Prophet (SAW) will be clear.

• The scientific developments that are taking place, how the Quranic verses describe them, will also know their reality.

• It will help clarify your role in scientific developments.

The fact is that the blessed month of Ramadan gives us an opportunity to correct the affairs of our lives, that is, in this month we correct everything from our worship to our affairs, but unfortunately we are not able to continue it. It is necessary that the acts of worship and affairs performed in this month should be continued throughout the next year, so that the affairs of life are balanced.
