Press conference of DG ISPR

A general opinion on DG ISPR’s press conference is that this press conference was about Tehreek-e-Insaaf. While I don’t think so. I think this press conference was about the justice system of Pakistan. In my opinion, this press conference was a complaint of the Pakistan Army against the justice system of Pakistan that you have not punished the accused of May 9 in one year. In my opinion, this press conference was an expression of frustration with the criminal justice system.

You can say that the strongest institution of Pakistan, the army, was complaining to the second strongest institution, the judiciary, that you did not give us justice. Rather, it is more appropriate to say that an aggrieved party, whose house was attacked on May 9, was declaring before the judiciary that his accused are also walking free.

Nothing is being done about his cases either. On the contrary, the accused have now started saying that you have set fire to your own house. A judicial commission should be formed to investigate it. From this point of view, another aspect of this press conference will come before you.

As far as PTI is concerned. In this regard, there is nothing new in the press conference of its Imran remote control leaders. Everyone knows that after May 9, the establishment is not ready to talk to Tehreek-e-Insaaf. So when it was said that we will not talk, it was not news.

You and I all know that they are not ready to talk. There was nothing newsworthy about it. However, it is true that Tehreek-e-Insaaf had created this atmosphere by repeatedly saying that we will talk only with the army. But on the other hand, the situation of the army was very clear and is clear.

It is not a new thing that first an unconditional apology should be made in front of the people regarding May 9, and then they will think about talking. This policy of the establishment is also old to accept the responsibility of May 9 first. Admit it you have done it all and you are ashamed of what you have done. Then forgiveness can be thought of.

What needs to be understood is that the establishment is not in a mood of reconciliation with Tehreek-e-Insaaf. Army’s position is that first you should accept the responsibility of Nomai and apologize in front of the nation, not apologize in a closed room. Then you might consider forgiving. There is no peace situation. There is a situation of forgiveness. Forgiveness is not negotiated. There are no conditions. In peace, there are negotiations, there are conditions. This difference also needs to be understood. But this is not a new policy. This policy has been going on for a year. PTI is aware of this.

Army’s stance on Judicial Commission on May 9 is also not new. They have rejected it before – still the same situation. So there is no change in it. May 9 was the false flag operation of the army, so make a judicial commission on it. All these have been political allegations and demands of Tehreek-e-Insaaf while the establishment has never made any such demand and has never supported any such demand.

She has been talking about giving severe punishment to the accused of May 9 since the first day. It is talking about giving severe punishments to those who planned it. The army is talking about the trial of these accused in military courts. Therefore, the old position has been repeated in this press conference.

Today, the situation of tension is seen in front of the judiciary and the army. The main reason for this is May 9. In the opinion of the army, the Judiciary has treated the suspects of May 9 with exception. When the military exemplifies the convictions of the accused on Capitol Hill. When the army gives the example of the punishments given to the accused in the London riots and explains how the justice system and the criminal justice system there worked day and night to give harsh punishments to the accused so that such incidents could not happen again in their countries. So the army is telling the judiciary of Pakistan that you did not do this. Look at the attitude of the justice system of the world on such incidents and look at your own attitude. You see the speed of work on such cases of the justice system of the world and see your speed. Look at the seriousness of the justice system of the world on such incidents in their respective countries and look at the justice system of Pakistan.

Is it permissible to herd the justice system? I think it is legitimate. On May 9, Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders and activists attacked military installations across Pakistan, looted there, broke memorials of military martyrs, tore uniforms and waved them, but the justice system of Pakistan is responsible. Daran did not take it as seriously as it should have.

The accused of May 9 were treated like heroes instead of accused in the courts. Their arrests were reacted as if national heroes had been arrested. Shahyar Afridi’s arrest is a clear example of this. There is a video regarding his 9th of May that all GHQ should run. But they were not only released immediately, but a front was formed for their re-arrest. Like a national hero has been arrested again.

Nowadays, the judges themselves seem to be worried about the propaganda against them on social media. Two judges of the Islamabad High Court have written a letter to the Chief Justice over the campaign against them on social media asking for contempt of court action. But does anyone realize the dirty and insulting social media that Tehreek-e-Insaf has continuously started against the army.
