Prime Minister’s meeting with President of Islamic Development Bank, review of progress on various projects

Islamabad / Riyadh: President Islamic Development Bank Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasir met Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on the sidelines of the special session of the World Economic Forum.
In the meeting, progress on various projects of Islamic Development Bank in Pakistan was reviewed. The Prime Minister thanked the Islamic Development Bank for investing one billion US dollars in various projects on behalf of the Islamic Development Bank during its previous regime.
The Prime Minister appreciated the support of the Islamic Development Bank in the post-flood recovery of Pakistan and acknowledged the personal support and leadership role of Dr. Al Jasir in this regard.
It was agreed to complete various ongoing projects of Islamic Development Bank in Pakistan as soon as possible. In the meeting, discussions were held regarding finding new opportunities for cooperation between Pakistan and Islamic Development Bank.
Talking to the President of Islamic Development Bank, the Prime Minister said that the useful partnership of Islamic Development Bank with Pakistan is proving to be helpful in achieving the goals of sustainable development of the government along with providing assistance in reconstruction and employment.
He said that the Special Investment Facilitation Council is fully functional to develop foreign investment in the country on the right lines and to address all concerns of foreign investors and provide one-window operations.
The President of Islamic Development Bank said that Pakistan is a founding member of Islamic Development Bank and is a very important pulpit. Allah Almighty has blessed Pakistan with rich natural and water resources. Pakistan’s large workforce can be fully benefited. . We pray for the prosperity and improvement of Pakistan.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Petroleum Mossadegh Malik, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Federal Minister for Power Owais Ahmed Khan Leghari were also present in the meeting.
