PSQCA staff strike, hundreds of containers stuck at port

Karachi: Pakistan Standard and Quality Control officers and staff went on strike, hundreds of containers were stuck at the port.

Former Vice President of FPCCI Khurram Ijaz said that the officers and staff of Pakistan Standard and Quality Control have gone on strike due to which clearance certificates to importers and exporters have been stopped by PSQCA.

Khurram Ejaz said that the fertilizers, edible oil and machinery goods have not been cleared for two days, PSQCA clearance is required to clear the goods, if the goods are not sent, the importers and exporters will be charged a demurrage. I will lose crores of rupees.

On the other hand, strike banners were displayed in the offices of PSQCA and the employees left work and sat on the ground in protest.
