PTA opposes SIM closure of non-filers

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority opposed the SIM ban of non-filers.

PTA rejected FBR’s request to block SIM and said that legally we are not bound to block SIM.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority says that SIM blocking process is not compatible with our framework. .

PTA said that SIM blocking will also affect e-wallet transactions of banks, other options should be considered instead of SIM blocking to avoid legal difficulties.
