Schedule for filing claims of Gujjar, Orangi Nala victims continues

Karachi: On the order of the Supreme Court, Additional Commissioner II has issued a schedule for submission of claims of missing IDs of the victims of Gujjar, Orangi and Mahmudabad Nala.

The IDs of the victims of Gujjar, Orangi and Mehmoodabad drains have not been registered, during the last hearing at the Supreme Court Karachi Registry, the Chief Justice issued an order to the concerned authorities of the Sindh government to register their claims and remove their complaints. was

In this regard, Additional Commissioner II has directed the concerned victims to submit claims with documents to resolve the issue of missing IDs of the Nala victims. According to the schedule issued in this regard, claims of missing IDs will be received in this office from May 2 to 10.

Claims will be scrutinized from May 11 to 14 and the list of accepted and rejected claims of missing IDs will be published on May 25.

Complaints against rejection of claims can be submitted from 26th to 28th May, on which the concerned committee will give final decision from 29th May to 1st June.

Earlier, the delegation of Karachi Bachao Tehreek met the Focal Person Additional Commissioner to Zanira Jalil and requested to issue checks for early compensation to the victims with approved IDs in May 2023.

The Additional Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner Headquarters said that as per the order of the Supreme Court, complete documents and photographs of the houses of all the applicants will be required and the claims which will be found to be valid after verification will be given immediate compensation.

Convener Karachi Bachao Tehreek Gujjar Nala Core Committee Arif Shah said that you should check it but in May 2023 after fulfilling all the legal requirements of IDs with support inquiry done, it was approved by the Commissioner Karachi in 2022 on the request of Karachi Bachao Tehreek. sent to DC Central for investigation.

He said that the land surveyor of DC Central conducted a survey at the address of these applicants and the authority informed the concerned assistant commissioner about the survey report after which the IDs were approved and sent to the MC and Slum Compensation. went but they were not added to the list of 6932 IDs, on which the Additional Commissioner II assured to release the schedule for filing claims and resolve the issue soon.

The delegation of Karachi Bachao Tehreek included Fatima Zaidi, Convener Gujjar Nala Core Committee Arif Shah, General Secretary Mushtaq Awan, Member Core Committee Zaheer Ahmed and Legal Advisor Faiz Milano Advocate High Court.
