Terrorist fabric of Basham attack meets Afghanistan, Spokesperson of Foreign Office

Islamabad: The spokesman of the Foreign Office has said that the network of terrorists involved in the Basham attack is linked to Afghanistan.

While giving a weekly media briefing, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that ISPR has clearly stated in its statement that Afghans are involved in terrorism in Pakistan. We expect the Afghan administration to take action against these terrorist groups and individuals.

He said that the Afghan administration should eliminate safe havens of terrorists on the territory of Afghanistan. We reject the baseless allegations of Afghanistan. The fabric of the terrorists involved in the Basham attack is linked to Afghanistan. Once detailed intelligence data is received from our law enforcement agencies, we will take up the matter with Afghanistan. Apart from the Foreign Office, there are other channels of communication with Afghanistan, including in the security domain.

Spokesperson of the Foreign Office said that Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiar Saidov has come on a visit to Pakistan. He will meet President Asif Ali Zardari today. The Uzbek Foreign Minister will also meet with the military leadership. Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs has also arrived in Pakistan yesterday, he is meeting Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The agenda of these talks is regional and global affairs, trade and investment.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that the USCIRF’s recent report ignores the ground realities of Pakistan. This procedure could be improved, if it does not have double standards.

He said that Pakistan strongly condemns the attack of the Israeli settlers on the Jordanian aid convoy in Gaza. Israel has been bombing the people of Gaza for several months. They have besieged Gaza and forced the people into famine.

The spokesperson of the Foreign Office said that Pakistan appreciates the OIC’s endorsement of the position on Occupied Kashmir. The meeting has demanded India to withdraw the unilateral and illegal measures of August 5, 2019. Pakistan welcomes the report of the Special Representative of the OIC Secretary General for Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan will continue to provide moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiri brothers and sisters.

He said that the visit of Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal to China is a part of consultation on CPEC. Yasin Malik is in the notorious Tihar Jail, where he is facing health problems. Medical facilities are not available to Yasin Malik, he is not even allowed to meet his family members. We ask India to end the fake case against Yasin Malik and provide medical facilities.
