Former Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani says that the federal government is putting more burden on the federation by establishing new authorities, condemning the establishment of Digital Rights Protection Authority by the government.

In his statement, Raza Rabbani said that the Prime Minister approved the proposed Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PICA) Amendment Bill without taking the public, stakeholders into confidence, the PICA Amendment Bill will have far-reaching effects.

Raza Rabbani said that the authority will advise the government on digital rights, the regulation will be implemented, the authority can demand information from individuals and witnesses.

The former Senate Chairman also said that on the other hand, the government is talking about re-evaluating the NFC, instead of establishing a new authority, agency, the federal government should give these ministries to the provinces.

Raza Rabbani said that the government should hand over the proposed bill to the relevant standing committee while presenting it to the parliament, and the opinion of the provincial government should be taken on the bill that there is a need to establish such an authority.
