The IMF has approved a $1.1 billion tranche

Islamabad: The International Monetary Fund has approved the final tranche of the loan program, with a formal announcement from the IMF expected soon.

According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, the IMF Executive Board meeting regarding Pakistan was held in Washington, in which the immediate release of one billion 100 million dollars to Pakistan was approved.

According to sources, the IMF has approved the last installment under the standby arrangement, under the $3 billion loan program, Pakistan has already received $1.9 billion.

In the meeting, the Executive Board of the IMF also acknowledged the improvement in Pakistan’s economy, it should be noted that the 9-month standby arrangement will be completed as soon as the IMF money is transferred.
