The Israeli government is taking illegal steps, Munir Akram

Pakistan’s ambassador to the United Nations, Munir Akram, says that the Israeli government is taking illegal steps in Gaza.

Ambassador Munir Akram said that the United Nations fulfilled its responsibility in the Security Council and the General Assembly.

He said that there have been resolutions in the UN on human rights violations in Gaza, the member states are obliged to implement every decision of the Security Council.

Munir Akram said that the permanent members do not agree to implement the decision of the Security Council, and efforts are ongoing in the United Nations to negotiate a ceasefire in Gaza.

He said that a special session of the United Nations regarding Palestine’s membership will be held today, and the Security Council will be asked to review its decision in the UN session.

It should be noted that the United States vetoed the resolution of Palestine’s full membership in the Security Council.
