The sister-in-law arrested the bride on the day of the wedding

Karachi: On the day of the wedding, the police arrested the bride, against whom a unique protest was held outside the Jamshed Quarter police station.

The relatives reached the police station with the bride’s sherwani and shouted slogans.

On the other hand, the bride’s relatives and local residents have said that the bride has been trapped by her brothers and sister-in-law with the alleged collusion of the police to occupy the inheritance house.

The plaintiff said in her statement that her younger brother-in-law Osama Qureshi, son of Haji Yunus Qureshi, who often fights with her and abuses her, on 26 April 2024, I was in my house when my brother-in-law Osama Qureshi came to my room and When I forbade him to start shouting, he got into a frenzy and beat me with kicks, punches and punches and kicked my back and twisted my hand and threatened me with dire consequences. Faizan Qureshi came to my room and saved me from him. I told all these things to my husband Yusuf Qureshi and now I have come to the police station to file a report.

Duty Officer ASI Sajjad Ali of Jamshed Quarter police station wrote the FIR after recording the statement of the plaintiff Noor Fatima and wrote that he wrote that I, duty officer Sajjad Ali, confirm that the report of the plaintiff is word for word as per the conversation. wrote and read it to the plaintiff who signed the report acknowledging it as true, the case was handed over to the investigation department, later the investigation police revealed the arrest of Osama Qureshi named in the case.

Bride Osama’s relatives protested outside the Jamshed Quarter police station and demanded the release of the bride. Residing at House No. 385 Osmania Colony Opposite Central Jail and filed an application on 26th April 2024 in Jamshed Quarter Police Station stating that my parents are dead and I am single I am going to get married and my brother And uncle etc. had beaten me up about 5 years ago, on which the local residents saved my life, the record of which is available in the police station, now again they brought my brother and two women to my house and threw me out of the house. He spent the whole night outside the house, the whole neighborhood is witness to this.

Osama requested the help of the police to end the occupation of my house and to save my life from these people, despite the earlier request by Osama, the police rejected his request. I filed a case against Noor Fatima.

The residents of the area claimed that SHO Jamshed quarter had allegedly taken a bribe and registered the case and Osama was detained at around 6 o’clock in the morning of the wedding and revealed his arrest after registering the case at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. This leads to the suspicion of police malice.

During the protest outside the police station, the bride’s relatives and local residents demanded an impartial investigation from the higher authorities. I have had to disturb my sleep, if I don’t end the protest immediately, I will arrest all of you like Dilha, after which the protestors dispersed peacefully.
