Karachi: Various countries have expressed interest in outsourcing airports.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized the need for efforts to enhance economic diplomacy and promote trade and investment relations with foreign countries and to improve the marketing done by Pakistani missions abroad for airport outsourcing. Chaired an online meeting with Heads of Missions to review progress on efforts.

It was informed in the meeting that Turkey, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait showed special interest in Islamabad International Airport and the well-known airport operators of Paris, Spain, Germany, United Kingdom and Switzerland also showed positive interest.

According to the spokesperson of the Civil Aviation Authority, a review meeting was held regarding airport outsourcing efforts in the global market through Pakistan Missions abroad, later the 9th meeting of the Steering Committee on Outsourcing of Airports was held.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held an online meeting with Pakistan Embassies/Heads of Missions/Ambassadors, Secretary Aviation/DGCAA reviewed the progress in this regard, in the meeting to improve service quality at airports. (KPIs) and benchmarks prepared by global consultants were also reviewed.

Foreign Minister directed IFC (IFC) to complete Lahore and Karachi airport outsourcing within the stipulated period. According to IFC, foreign investors are showing keen interest in the bidding process of Islamabad International Airport. .
