Colombian President Gustavo Petro has said that his country will cut diplomatic ties with Israel in protest against the brutal bombing of Gaza.
According to the World News Agency, Colombian President Gustavo Petro, the harshest critic of the Israeli aggression in Gaza, said that the Israeli government is committing genocide against the Palestinians.
For having a country, government and president who have been victims of genocide. We understand the pain of the genocide and suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza.
Colombia will cut ties with Israel starting tomorrow, President Gustavo Petro said.
It should be noted that Colombia has opposed the Israeli bombardment in Gaza since October 7 and called it a genocide of the Palestinians.
In February, Colombia suspended arms purchases from Israel.
The move was made by Colombians queuing up at an aid center in Gaza to receive bags of grain that were fired upon by the Israeli army. Dozens of Palestinians were martyred.
Meanwhile, in early April, Colombia also requested to join a case accusing Israel of genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
