Elite force head constable arrested, two kilos of hashish recovered

In Rawalpindi, police officials also started getting involved in drug smuggling and drug selling, Gujarkhan police arrested the head constable of the elite force and recovered 1 kg of 800 grams of hashish.

In the police report, it has been revealed that Head Constable Taqdees Salam, posted at the elite force headquarters Rawalpindi, was involved in the nefarious drug trade for two years.

A case was registered against the accused in Gujarkhan police station on the statement of Sub-Inspector Naveed Aslam in which Naveed Aslam said that he was on patrol when he checked Taqdeesul Islam, a motorcyclist, and one kg of 800 grams of hashish was recovered. But the accused was arrested.

Meanwhile, in the initial police report sent to senior police officers, it has been stated that the accused is a head constable in Taqdis-e-Salam Elite Force and is posted at the elite headquarters in Rawalpindi. The accused has allegedly been involved in drug smuggling and drug selling business for two years, on the disclosure of which drugs were also purchased from him through a regular informant.

According to the sources, there was an uproar among the officers of the police station due to the involvement of Petibhai Head Constable of the elite force in drug smuggling and an attempt was made to suppress the matter at the police station level, however, when the information reached the officers, the officers immediately registered a case. Orders were given, on which a case was registered.

SSP Operations Rawalpindi Flight Lieutenant Retired Hafiz Kamran Asghar rejected the impression of any leniency on the part of the police station regarding the accused. Hafiz Kamran Asghar said that elements involved in criminal activities have no place in the force, the process of self-accountability is ongoing in the force.

Along with legal action, departmental action is also being taken against the head constable.
