The World Cup will make cricket popular again in America, US Consul General

The American Consul General in Karachi, Konrad Treble, says that he is very excited about hosting the Cricket World Cup for the first time in the United States. The hosting of the World Cup will re-popularize a sport in the United States that was previously limited to the South Asian community.

Conrad Treble said that the match between Pakistan and India on June 9 will undoubtedly be the focus of everyone’s attention, but his eyes are on the match between Pakistan and the United States three days before that.

Talking about India-Pakistan match, he said that this match will be the most important match for any cricket fan, everyone will watch it, only such matches are important for sports in which people get excited.

To a question, he said that many people do not know this, but there was a time when cricket was quite popular in America, even George Washington played cricket.

He further said that George Washington played the game of wickets which was actually cricket, cricket was very popular in America for the first 100 years then it was replaced by baseball, it is hoped that cricket will become popular in America by holding the World Cup.

To a question, the American ambassador said that while living in Pakistan, he has become very interested in cricket, he went to watch Pakistan Super League matches in the past few days and enjoyed these matches very much.
