Doha: Hamas has said that Israel has responded to its ceasefire proposal and will respond after reviewing it.

According to the report of the foreign news agency Reuters, the deputy head of Hamas in Qatar, Khalil al-Hiya, said in a statement that Hamas has received the response of the Israeli occupying state to the cease-fire proposal given on April 13 by the mediators of Egypt and Qatar. Is.

The report stated that the Egyptian delegation visited Israel to resume negotiations to end the conflict and find a way to release the detainees.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Israel had no new proposals but would consider a short-term ceasefire and the release of the remaining 33 detainees held by Hamas. Earlier, talks were being held for the release of 40 people.

It should be noted that more than 6 months have passed since the ongoing war in Gaza, while there is still a deadlock regarding the negotiations and Hamas is of the opinion that the war should end as a result of the negotiations.

The United States and 17 other countries appealed to Hamas on Thursday to release those arrested in order to end the conflict.

Hamas has expressed its unwillingness to accept international pressure in response to this appeal, but said in a statement issued on Friday that it is ready for any plan or proposal given the rights and needs of its people.

On the other hand, Israel rejected the basic demands and criticized the joint statement of the United States and other countries and said that there will be neither a complete ceasefire nor the withdrawal of its forces from Gaza.

US National Security Adviser Jack Sullivan said in his statement on Friday that there may be a possibility of new negotiations to end the war and the release of those detained by Hamas.

Reports cited Israeli officials as saying that Israel had told the Egyptian delegation that it was ready to hold talks on the release of detainees as a last chance for a deal with Hamas before moving on to Rafah.

Officials of the Palestinian Health Department said that 5 people were martyred and many were injured by the Israeli air strike on a house in Rafah.

It should be noted that 1,200 Israelis were killed and 253 were arrested in the attack of Hamas on October 7, while more than 34,000 Palestinians have been martyred as a result of the brutal operation launched by Israel.
