Heavy rain in Nigeria damages prison building, 118 prisoners escape

At least 118 inmates escaped after a prison wall collapsed due to heavy rain near the Nigerian capital, Abuja.

According to foreign media, the heavy rain on Wednesday night continued for several hours, which damaged some parts of the prison and surrounding buildings.

According to reports, security agencies have captured 10 prisoners who escaped from the jail.

Officials say that efforts are on to catch the escaped prisoners, while the public has been appealed for cooperation and help by staying alert.
