Heavy rain in UAE paralyzes life system

Dubai: The heavy rains in the UAE wreaked havoc, severely paralyzing the life system.

According to the United Arab Emirates Meteorological Department, from Monday morning to Tuesday afternoon, there was a stormy rain with thunder and cloudburst in different areas.

Due to the heavy rains, the roads in many states and cities of the United Arab Emirates started to present the appearance of ponds, while residential areas have become flooded and rain water has entered houses, malls, metro stations and other places.

The Meteorological Department said that the second spell of rain will start from Tuesday afternoon and will be accompanied by thundershowers till Thursday.

Meteorologists say that during the second spell, there will be heavy rains including lightning in different areas.

The local administration has appealed to the citizens not to leave their homes unnecessarily. The administration says that vehicles have been submerged due to the accumulation of several feet of water on the roads and there are problems in the flow of traffic, but emergency measures are also being taken for drainage.

This situation is in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah, where landslides also occurred.
