Importance and obligations of Zakat and its expenses

Zakat is an important part of Islam. In the Holy Qur’an, prayer after faith is mentioned and along with it, Zakat is mentioned. The literal meaning of Zakat is purification, growth and development, it is financial worship. It is not only the most appropriate act of sponsoring institutions and distribution of wealth, but it is a form of worship that also cleanses the impurities of the heart and soul.

It makes a person a sincere servant of Allah. Also, Zakat is the best means of acknowledging the incalculable blessings of Allah and showing gratitude to Him. Zakat is the part of the wealth which is obligatory to pay and today Muslims find it difficult to pay zakat, many Muslims are oblivious to the obligation of zakat, many people are looking for tricks and excuses to avoid paying zakat. Some Muslims pay zakat, but without making a full calculation, they simply estimate or take out some wealth in the name of zakat according to taste, although this is also a big mistake. and then arrange for payment thereof.

Regarding Zakat, there are all the necessary commands and instructions in abundance and clarity in the Quran and Hadith, and very strict promises have been made about not paying Zakat, and all this has been arranged for believers like us who are seduced by the self and Satan. They come to me and get away from Islamic orders. God’s statement is: “And establish prayer, and pay Zakat, and be humble with those who humble themselves” (Surah Al-Baqarah). There are two types of actions in Islamic commandments, outward actions and inward actions, then outward actions. There are two types of physical worship and financial worship as if now there are three totals (1) physical worship (2) financial worship (3) inner actions, Allah Almighty has explained the important details of these three totals in the above verse, physical worship Mentioned prayer in connection with.

Zakat was mentioned in relation to financial worship and humbleness and modesty were mentioned in relation to inward actions. The foremost and most important is the saying of the Almighty: “And My mercy (is so common) that it encompasses all things.”

So I will write this (completely special) for those who are pious and give zakat and believe in Our revelations.” If you give with the intention of increasing people’s wealth by becoming interest, then this (thing) does not increase in the sight of Allah. We will continue to increase the wealth we have with Allah Almighty” (Surah Rum) Says the Almighty, translation: If you lend to Allah Almighty, lend to Allah well, and He will double it and forgive you, in comparison to it. For those who do not pay Zakat, Allah says, Translation: Those who collect gold and silver and do not spend it in the way of Allah, give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment.

It was narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: When you have paid the zakat of your property, you have paid what was due to you on your property (Sunan Ibn Majah, 1788). A person asked him, what do you think about a person who has paid zakat on his property? He (peace be upon him) said that the evil (harmful aspect) of his wealth has ended.

(Al-Maajim al-Awsat Lal-Tabarani,: 1579) Among the attributes of those who are successful that have been mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, one of the attributes is the payment of zakat. Hadith: 280) In a hadith Sharif, five actions for entering Paradise are mentioned, one of which is the payment of Zakat (Sunan Abu Dawud, Kitab al-Salaat). It is also a means of forgiveness of sins (Majma al-Zawaid, Kitab al-Zakat) on paying zakat, where there are rewards and benefits from Allah.

There have been promises in the Holy Qur’an and hadiths for the one who neglects to pay this duty, and there have been many mentions of the calamity that will come upon such a person in this world and the hereafter, who do not pay Zakat. His wealth will be heated in the fire of Hell and his foreheads, sides and backs will be scorched with it (Surat al-Tawbah: 34.35). 180) Such wealth will not be of any use to him in the Hereafter (Surat al-Baqarah: 254).

The wealth of such a person will come on the Day of Resurrection in the form of a poisonous snake, whose head hair will have fallen off, and two white dots above his eyes, then that snake will be made a collar around his neck. , then he will take (and cut) both of his calves and say: I am your wealth, I am your accumulated treasure. (Sahih Bukhari) At the time of death, such a person will desire to pay Zakat, but nothing will happen to him except regret (Surah al-Manafiqun: 10). His side, forehead and chest will be stained (Sahih Muslim).

(Al-Ma’jam al-Awsat Lal-Tabarani) According to these verses and hadiths, payment of Zakat is a means for a Muslim to obtain the blessings of the Hereafter and escape from the punishment of Hell, which cannot be a greater blessing. Paying Zakat reminds a Muslim that the wealth he earns is not really his property but a trust given by Allah Almighty, this realization protects him from economic indiscretions and commands all his actions. Submits to God.

According to the words of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), economic matters are a part of religion. When a person spends a blessing like wealth on the command of Allah Ta’ala, Allah Ta’ala appreciates his passion and declares his spent wealth as a debt to Him and promises that He will multiply this debt of the servant by multiplying it. will return Through the system of Zakat, a part of the wealth is diverted from the rich to the poor. Which improves the economic condition of the poor.

Wealth has the same status in society as blood in human body. If all this blood accumulates in the heart (i.e. the wealthy class), it will paralyze the entire body (i.e. the people) as well as prove harmful to oneself. If on the one hand, the poor class will suffer from the problems of poverty, on the other hand, the rich class will suffer from the moral diseases arising from the abundance of wealth, such as extravagance and carelessness of the hereafter.

Obviously, in such a case, there will be no relationship between these two classes except envy and contempt. In view of all these individual and collective benefits, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) immediately after the establishment of the Islamic state of Madinah, was ordered by Allah to purify and bless his property by paying Zakat. In fact, the honest Muslim is the one who believes that whatever is spent in the way of Allah for His pleasure will not be wasted, but will give the best reward for it.

A believer is one who gives a place in his heart to the love of Allah Ta’ala in comparison to wealth, by whose grace he got wealth and spends that wealth in His way! Zakat is an important part of religion and it is not a tax but actually it is the soul and soul of Islam. This is actually a test of faith. When he passes the test of sacrifice of wealth, he becomes a complete Muslim. (Surah Towbah 60)

Eight uses of zakat have been described in Islam, including the poor and the needy, as well as those who give zakat, that is, they can receive salary and other benefits from zakat. There are eight types of people who are entitled to zakat. can Allah Ta’ala has explained them in verse 60 of Surah Al-Tawbah (1) Faqra: is the plural of poverty.

It refers to people who have nothing to live on. I am responsible for keeping an account of it (4) Al-Mufab al-Qulub: This refers to the fur of one who hopes that he will become a Muslim by taking wealth or will stop harassing Muslims (5) per Al-Raqab: To free the necks, that is, to free the Muslim slave and to free the Muslims from the captivity of the enemy (6) Gharmin: To relieve the debt by spending Zakat on debtors who cannot pay their debts. 7) In the way of Allah: This refers to Jihad and Jihad is the pinnacle of Islam. Jihad in the way of Allah and spending Zakat to meet all the expenses and needs of the Mujahideen is proved by the hadith.

A man dedicated his nickel-plated camel to the cause of Jihad, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Allah will give you seven hundred camels in exchange for this camel, and all of them will be nickel-plated.” Muslims need to pay special attention to this consumption. (8) Traveller: during which the journey has ended, give it from the wealth of Zakat to reach the destination.

Zakat cannot be spent on: The family of the Prophet, the rich and wealthy, non-Muslims and such people whose expenses and support are borne by the payer of Zakat cannot be spent on them. Zakat is obligatory on gold, silver, goods, trade and animals and on the produce of the land. Punishment of those who do not pay Zakat: Those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend it in the way of Allah, inform them of a painful punishment. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said that a person who does not pay zakat on his wealth will be imposed on him on the Day of Resurrection in the form of a bald snake that will constantly bite him and say, “I am your wealth and treasure.” The man who has not paid Zakat on his cattle will be beaten by the animals on the Day of Resurrection and trampled under their feet.

Usher is one of the products of the earth. Twentieth part of twenty manna of twenty manna is two manna and the land which is irrigated by tubewell etc. is one manna out of twenty manna i.e. half. Allah Almighty said in the Qur’an, “O you who believe, spend from what you have earned and from what We have brought out for you from the earth” (Al-Baqarah verse 267). The Almighty said: “At the time of harvest, pay its due” (Surat al-An’am, verse 142). One-tenth of the Avar is zakat, and half-ushar (ie twentieth) of the land irrigated by a well is zakat. ( Sahih Bukhari)
