KARACHI: Local governments should plant and take care of trees: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court Karachi Registry issued an order to all local governments to plant and maintain trees along the roads.

The order issued by the Supreme Court said that environmental pollution can be combated by maintaining and planting trees during the hot summer months.

According to the decree, trees help to remove pollution and generate oxygen.

The Supreme Court while issuing an order to the local governments said that it is the responsibility of all the local governments not to neglect their duty and take care of plantations and trees along the roads.
