MQM-Pakistan has asked PPP for the chairmanship of 14 standing committees

Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan asked PPP for chairmanship of 14 standing committees.

The first formal meeting between Pakistan People’s Party and MQM Pakistan regarding the chairmanship of standing committees has been held.

Sources say that the PPP delegation included Speaker Sindh Assembly Qadir Shah and Sindh Home Minister Zia Linjar and the MQM delegation included opposition leader Ali Soharsi, assembly members Iftikhar Alam and Jamal Ahmed.

In the meeting, proposals were given by MQM regarding standing committees and a detailed discussion was held regarding standing committees in Sindh Assembly.

Sources say that the MQM delegation, while giving suggestions to the PPP delegation regarding the chairmanship of 14 standing committees, said that the committees that are included in our priorities include interior, education, municipalities, health and industries.

According to sources, the PPP delegation had asked for suggestions regarding MQM standing committees, on which suggestions have been provided by MQM.

The PPP delegation told the MQM that an answer will be given after consulting the leadership.
