Pakistan will not provide bases to any foreign government, Foreign Office

Islamabad: The spokesperson of the Foreign Office has said that Pakistan will not provide bases to any foreign government against any country.

Spokesperson of the Foreign Office, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, has said in a weekly media briefing that Pakistan has good relations with the US and Iran, and will further develop its relations with both countries in the national interest.

He said that there are many channels of communication between Pakistan and Iran, and will continue the communication to increase cooperation with Iran. Discussions are continuing between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia regarding investment in energy and other sectors.

The spokesperson said that the Indian network had been active in South Asia for decades. The Indian network of extrajudicial killings has spread across the world, Pakistan has exposed the evidence of attacks by Indian agents to the world, the Indian action is illegal and a violation of international law.

He said that the world should hold India accountable for its actions. In February 2019, history repeated itself, the Indian leadership makes statements for political purposes, I will not comment on the recent statement of the Indian Prime Minister.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch further said that Pakistan’s forces and people are always ready to defend the country.

He said that the Israeli aggression and blockade in Gaza is condemnable, Pakistan condemns the increasing aggression and illegal settlements by Israel. Pakistan reiterates its commitment to support the Palestinian people. Pakistan will highlight the ongoing situation in Gaza at the OIC meeting. There will also be a discussion on common solutions to the problems faced by the Muslim Ummah.

He said that the American delegation has visited Pakistan, and has met with the Acting Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A productive discussion was held with the delegation on all aspects of bilateral relations. The parties reiterated their commitment to enhance cooperation in the areas of trade, investment and regional security.

The spokesman said that people have been affected by torrential rains and floods in some areas of Occupied Kashmir in the last few days, for which they express sympathy. Pakistan condemns the illegal occupation of Kashmiris’ land by the Indian government. Information about terrorists’ connection with Afghanistan has been given to Afghan authorities, Pakistan condemns terrorism.

According to the spokesperson of the Foreign Office, the Prime Minister had planned to visit Gambia but could not go due to his commitments.

He further informed that Shahzad condemns and rejects the allegations made by Akbar. Some elements sit in Britain and talk against Pakistan, Pakistan does not do such activities outside its borders.

The spokesperson said that the incident of the student with the German ambassador is sad. Asma Jahangir has been fighting for law and justice all her life.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch further said that Pakistan has given concrete information regarding the involvement of Indian agents in terrorist attacks. India is involved in attacks on Pakistani nationals, Pakistan, China, Iran Tripartite Dialogue is an important forum, but the dates for talks through this forum have not been fixed yet.

He said that Pakistan and Iran have discussed cooperation in various fields and regarding terrorism. He said that Pakistan has no intention of giving its military bases to any country against any country, the rumors in this regard are baseless. We condemn such trolling against institutions and officials on the issue of negative campaign by elements sitting abroad regarding Pak forces. The baseless and false campaign must stop.
