Request to increase the price of 18.86 rupees for the electricity consumers of Karachi
Islamabad: Gearing up to hit Karachi consumers once again, K Electric has requested a price hike of Rs 18.86.
K Electric has requested a simultaneous 9-month fuel price adjustment, which will be heard by the National Electric Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
On behalf of K Electric, the electricity supplier to Karachi, a request for receipts was filed for the period July 2023 to March 2024. K Electric has sought 9 months’ worth of fuel price adjustments. FCA of K Electric only for 2 months is negative and included in the application.
According to the request, the total increase for 7 months is Rs 18 86 paise while K Electric has requested a reduction of 29 paise for 2 months.
Nepra will decide on the application under FCA after hearing in this regard.
