6 children killed and 20 injured in school bus accident in India
New Delhi: In the Indian state of Haryana, the driver, allegedly drunk, rammed a passenger bus into a tree, killing 6 students and injuring 20.
According to Indian media, there were about 30 children on the school bus. The speeding bus lost control of the driver and hit a tree and overturned.
During the rescue operations, 26 children were shifted to a nearby hospital, out of which 6 children died and 20 were injured. Surprisingly, the private school was open despite the Eid holidays.
Police said the fitness certificate of the bus had expired in 2018 and the driver was also possibly under the influence of alcohol which led to the accident.
The Chief Minister of Haryana formed an inquiry committee to investigate the incident.
