Shoplifting incidents in England and Wales at 20-year high

Shoplifting incidents in England and Wales have reached a 20-year high.

According to a media report from London, 430,000 incidents of theft were reported last year. This rate of theft incidents is a third higher than in 2022.

According to retailers’ organizations, these theft incidents are many times less than the actual incidents.

The Association of Convenience Stores says that most shopkeepers do not report minor thefts due to lack of interest from the police.
