Sword-wielding man attacks pedestrians and police officers in UK

London: An attack on passers-by by a sword-wielding man in London’s East End has spread fear and panic. Citizens were confined in their houses.
According to the British Broadcasting Agency, the police received information that a man drove a car at the house in Hainault and attacked the family with a sword, after which the police arrived at the scene.
The sword-wielding person also attacked the policemen, injuring two policemen. The assailant also targeted passers-by as a result of which more than 5 civilians were injured.
A spokesman for the ambulance service told the media that around 10 people were taken to hospital with injuries. 5 injured were admitted to intensive care ward due to deep injuries.
The police detained the 36-year-old assailant, but his identity has not been revealed and the motive for the attack has not been ascertained. The investigation is ongoing.
The police chief will hold a press conference soon to inform about the details of the incident and the investigation. The police say that in the initial investigation, this incident was not proved to be terrorism.
