Farmers in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu have protested in New Delhi against the government’s failure to increase crop prices despite promises.

According to Indian media reports, 200 distressed farmers of Tamil Nadu carried human skulls and bones in their hands as a symbol of suicide during a protest in Delhi against the government.

Indian media reports claimed that the human skulls carried by the farmers were those of fellow farmers who had committed suicide in the face of inflation and low crop prices.

According to media reports, farmers in Tamil Nadu have been protesting to demand the Indian central government to increase crop prices and fulfill promises of interlinking of rivers.

During the protest, the farmer protestors said that the central government had promised to double the income in agriculture but the prices of the crops had not been increased.

Speaking to ‘India Today’, National South Indian River Interlinking Farms Association President Ayakanu said that during the 2019 elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that he would double crop yields and link rivers. I will add.

The protesters also asserted that if the government did not heed their demands, they would go to Varanasi to contest the Lok Sabha elections against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The farmers said that if the government does not listen to us, we will go to Varanasi and fight elections against PM Modi. Want help.

It should be noted that the farmers of Tamil Nadu have held several similar protests at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi in the past as well.
