New Delhi: In the Indian state of Karnataka, a man allegedly beheaded his underage fiancee.
According to Indian media, the Karnataka police intervened and stopped a wedding ceremony due to the bride’s age of 16 and told the family to get married after two years when the girl turns 18.
On which the girl’s family postponed the wedding ceremony. When the news of the postponement of the wedding reached bridegroom Prakash, he became enraged and went to the in-laws and created a ruckus.
Prakash beat up his 16-year-old fiancee Meena and allegedly beheaded her. The accused escaped with the severed head. The police started searching for Prakash after receiving the information.
The police registered a case against Prakash under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act.
