According to Indian media reports, three masked extremists entered the mosque in Kanchannagar area of ​​Ajmer, Rajasthan on Saturday morning and tortured and killed the imam of the mosque.

Indian police said that when this incident happened, 30-year-old Imam of the mosque, Maulana Muhammad Mahir, was present in the Muhammadi mosque along with his disciples.

The report said that the body was shifted to Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital in Ajmer for post-mortem.

The students told the police that after killing Imam, the accused took his mobile phone with them.

In this regard, Muhammad Amir, the brother of Maulana Muhammad Mahir, says, “My brother had told us several times that some people of this area were not happy with his management of the madrassa and those people wanted to take over the madrassa.”

He said that Maulana Muhammad Mahir did not even like to stay in Ajmer, but after the death of his patron Maulana Zakir Hussain in October last year, he was given the responsibility of the Madrasa, due to which he was present here.

Muhammad Aamir further said that I have given the names of those people to the police who may be behind my brother’s murder.
