The heat of politics in South Punjab

The hot market of politics is gradually gaining momentum, now the senior vice president and chief organizer of Muslim League-N, Maryam Nawaz, has also said in the workers’ convention of Multan that the Muslim League-N is ready for the elections and she has told the workers. It has also been directed to prepare for the elections, Maryam Nawaz is the only voice towards the Muslim League-N, which is acknowledging the early elections, otherwise the other leaders of the Muslim League-N are making various excuses regarding the elections and such. They do not make categorical announcements, as Maryam Nawaz has done in Multan regarding the preparations for the elections.

On the other hand, the Election Commission has announced the dates of the by-elections of the National Assembly, by-elections will be held on 33 seats on March 16 and on 31 seats on March 19. It will surely happen, these are not few seats and the holding of such a large number of by-elections will itself create confusion in the election.

Regarding Maryam Nawaz’s workers’ convention, this campaign is going forward continuously, firstly in Bahawalpur and then in Multan, holding a full workers’ convention is an expression of the fact that Maryam Nawaz was given the post of chief organizer by Nawaz Sharif. What was the strategy, since Shahbaz Sharif is also the President of PML-N as well as the Prime Minister of the country and thus he cannot mobilize the party, the way Maryam Nawaz can, so by giving him this position in the field. has been taken down and those who were thinking that the PML-N has lost its popularity at the public level, they have to change their view after seeing this ongoing campaign of Maryam Nawaz, the workers’ convention held in Multan, Melsi, Wahari, Muzaffargarh, Khanewal. , workers from Mianchanu, Lodhran and other adjoining towns were brought to Multan in large numbers, due to which a rich show could be organized.

Although the PML-N is still suffering from organizational and factional differences at the local level, despite this, everyone seemed united upon the arrival of Maryam Nawaz, although there were complaints of neglect by some officials and workers. On the other day, there was a quarrel between the former provincial minister and the organizational officials, however, overall, the Muslim League-N was able to hold a good workers’ convention. Senior leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi was not invited, as the current organizational leadership of the Muslim League-N in Multan does not like him, according to sources, he was not formally invited by the local organizers for the workers’ convention. But he reached the meeting place on his own. Political circles say that Maryam Nawaz should take notice of this. After this convention, there has been a new life in the Muslim League circles of Multan and the party that Maryam Nawaz is leading. Due to lack of mobilization, there was a leadership vacuum. Now emerging as a political power again.

On the other hand, the trumpet of by-elections has sounded in three National Assembly constituencies of Multan, these three seats have become vacant after the acceptance of the resignations of Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Malik Amir Dogar and Ibrahim Khan, three more National Assembly seats in Multan too. There are, but there will not be elections on them, because two of the defected members of Tehreek-e-Insaf, Ahmed Hasan Dehar and Rana Qasim Noon, are still present as members of the assembly, while the third seat is held by Ali Musa Geelani of the People’s Party. It was said that Imran Khan from Tehreek-e-Insaaf will contest by-elections on all the seats.

According to the sources, the resigned members of the Tehreek-e-Insaaf took a sigh of relief that they will be a candidate again for a short time and avoid the expenses, but now this decision has changed and Tehreek-e-Insaf has nominated them in all these seats. It has been decided to give tickets to people who were previously elected as MNAs from here, such as Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Malik Amir Dogar and Ibrahim Khan will be candidates of Tehreek-e-Insaf in Multan, PDM or Muslim League-N And how the PPP decides its candidates, it is not clear at the moment, however, Maulana Fazlur Rehman has also said that PDM should not participate in the by-elections on these seats, but if PPP and Muslim League-N If they decide to participate in the elections, the PML-N will get tickets on two of these seats and the PPP on one, because according to PDM’s formula, in the 2018 elections, PML-N will get two seats and PPP will get one. Although the provincial assembly elections have not been announced and no date has been given by the governor of Punjab, nevertheless, the electoral turmoil has started in these provincial constituencies and the political parties are expected to Candidates are running their own public relations campaigns.

The corner meetings are going on and the series of manipulations has also started. The by-elections of the National Assembly are not as important as the provincial elections, because the provincial assembly will be elected for five years, while the recent elections of the National Assembly. The period will be only a few months, so all the candidates are focused on the provincial assembly elections, when they are announced and when the regular election campaign is started, how the tickets are distributed, although there is no formula. But those who are ex-members of Tehreek-e-Insaaf are hoping for tickets, while on the other hand, long-time and ideological workers of the party want tickets to be given on merit and to give these people a chance to come forward. Jaye, who have been neglected due to party grouping.

Because PML-N has always been focused on the Punjab Assembly and Maryam Nawaz has also claimed in the workers convention of Multan that the next government in Punjab will be of PML-N, so different groups are trying to get its tickets. On the day when Maryam Nawaz held a workers convention in Multan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and other leaders of PTI organized a large gathering on the inauguration ceremony after the renovation and decoration of Shaheed Lal Bridge. Political power should be demonstrated.

On this occasion, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Tehreek-e-Insaaf cannot be put against the wall by state tactics, Imran Khan announced the Jail Bharu Tehreek, when he calls for it, then there will be less space in the jails. He reiterated once again that there is no solution to the country’s problems except free and transparent elections, the government is afraid of the popularity of Tehreek-e-Insaaf, that is why it is running away from the elections, but we will not let them run away. will give and the people will take their right.
